Man Fatally Struck By BART Train In Alameda County

BART service was temporarily stopped in both directions between the Castro Valley and West Dublin/Pleasanton stations.

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — A man who was on BART tracks between the Castro Valley and West Dublin/Pleasanton stations for some reason late this morning was struck and killed by a BART train, a transit agency spokeswoman said. BART officials initially sent an advisory on the collision shortly before 11:30 a.m. today.

Service was shut down in both directions between the two stations immediately after the collision.
Limited service resumed shortly before 1 p.m., with trains single-tracking through the area, and full service was restored at 2:35 p.m., according to BART spokeswoman Anna Duckworth.
