Megan Rouse Appointed to Dublin School Board

Rouse brings a background in finance to the board.

Megan Rouse, a financial planner with community leadership experiecne, was named as a provisional appointee to the Dublin School Board of Trustees on Jan. 29.

She replaces David Haubert, who is now on the City Council. Her term will end in November 2014.

Rouse has a history working with Dublin schools. She most recently served as chair of the Dublin Elementary School Site Council and served on the board at John Knox Presbyterian Church and Joy Preschool.

She runs her own business and is a certified financial planner. She worked for several years as an investment banker in New York and San Francisco.

"I whole-heartedly believe in the DUSD mission to ensure every student becomes a life-long learned," Rouse said. "I am passionate about education and creating stronger community and I believe my broad and deep financial skills will be an asset to the board."

In 30 days from being appointed, Rouse will go from being a provisional appointment to an effective appointment. This could change if a petition with enough signatures is turned in the to the county superintendent of schools withing 30 days, calling for a special election for the vacant seat.
