New Leaf Community Day for SAGE: April 21

Support AgPark Education Programs-and bring your kids to plant seedlings!

You can support SAGE (Sustainable Agriculture Education) and their wonderful youth education programs by participating in New Leaf Community Market Community Day in Pleasanton on Thursday, April 21.

5% of the day’s sales will be donated to support SAGE’s education programs at Sunol AgPark, that include:
--School field trips for Bay Area Elementary School children
--Natural resource conservation service learning activities for Middle, High School and College students
--Intensive organic farming summer-time internships and farming education for High School students

Special activities during New Leaf Community Day -- includes Kids’ Seedling Planting (Free):

11am – 2pm: Learn about SAGE and their programs from Roger Kubalek, AgPark Site Manager. And enjoy samples of fresh-picked spring product from Feral Heart Farm grown at the AgPark (often available at New Leaf)

4pm - 7pm: Kids' Pot and Plant: Roger and Kristyn Leech of Namu Farm from AgPark will be leading kids in planting seedlings such as flowers, herbs, peas, and root vegetables, while supplies last. Organic soil and paper containers will be provided as well.

SAGE is a local nonprofit that revitalizes agricultural places near cities where farming and local food culture can thrive and be celebrated. Sunol AgPark is model of the excellent work they do.
