Teens Encouraged To Apply To Dublin Police Youth Academy

The 2017 Youth Academy will be held the week of July 10-14 for students ages 14-18.

From the City of Dublin: Does your child have an interest in criminal justice? The 2017 Youth Academy will be held the week of July 10-14 for students ages 14-18. This free week-long course offers participants the opportunity to learn about specific elements of the law enforcement profession. Some of these courses include:

  • Backgrounds and Recruiting
  • Bomb Squad Unit
  • Crime Prevention / Community Policing
  • Crime Scene Investigations
  • Gang Identification and Prevention

Students will also be offered a tour of law enforcement agency stations and learn about physical training exercises. The event will run from 9:00 a.m. to noon each day. The class is limited to 20 participants. Applicants under the age of 18 must also submit a Parent Consent Form. The deadline to apply is Monday, July 3.
