Wind Advisory Issued: Cold Storm Moving Into Dublin, East Bay
The southerly winds will continue to increase Friday ahead of an incoming cold front.
EAST BAY, CA — As a cold storm makes its way into the Bay Area Friday, a wind advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service, including the East Bay.
The advisory remains in effect from 10 a.m. Friday through 7 a.m. Saturday. South winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected, according to the NWS.
"Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Downed trees and downed powers lines may lead to travel hazard or power outages. Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle; secure outdoor objects," the NWS reported.

Although the storm will bring rain, wind and cool temperatures, the front is "looking like a more run of the mill Bay Area cold frontal passage," the NWS said. The North Bay, Santa Cruz Mountains, and Santa Lucia hills along the Big Sur coast will see "impressive rainfall totals" but many of the interior valleys won't be hit as hard, according to the NWS.
High temperatures Friday will be in the upper 50s to mid 60s in the East Bay; lows will be in the mid 50s. Highs Saturday will be near 60.
Dry weather returns Monday and Tuesday with a slight chance of rain by midweek.
