A New Life has Given Meaning to Celebrating Easter for one family

Willene Jeffrey’s moved into the Westmont of Fresno to be with her husband Bill on a Friday night after the “no visitor” protocols were instituted due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The couple knew that it was possible that they would not hold their new great-grandbaby as their grand-daughter was scheduled for delivery after the move. A special bond existed between Mrs. Jeffrey’s and her grand-daughter and she regretted that she wouldn't be able to hold the new baby. A few days after her birth, the entire family visited Willene and Bill so that they could see the newborn from their balcony. Through happy tears and in a “Lion King” fashion, the family presented baby Harlow while shouting love you’s and blowing kisses. Though the family could not celebrate Easter together; this new life gave them hope. According to Pam Hamilton, executive director of Westmont of Fresno, “This was such a heartwarming story that gave our Westmont family here such inspiration. It drove home the importance of paying attention to the details and of honoring special moments so that we have memories of them forever. This is how we all want to stay connected, healthy and strong during these difficult times.”
