3 Injured In 2 Windsor Traffic Collisions
The low-lying morning sun — because of Daylight Saving Time — was determined to be a factor in both incidents, police said.

WINDSOR, CA — Two separate, major traffic collisions happened Tuesday morning in Windsor, and police believe the recent change to Daylight Saving Time may partially be to blame. The first incident was reported at 7:35 a.m. on Shiloh Road at Day Road and involved three cars.
The roadway was closed in both directions for over an hour, police said. Two drivers suffered moderate injuries and were taken to a local hospital.
Around 25 minutes later, Windsor deputies were dispatched to reports of a crash involving a car and a bicyclist at Alden Lane and Old Redwood Highway.

Multiple witnesses told police that when a car hit a teenager riding a bicycle, the impact threw the teen into the air.
"The teenager then got into the vehicle with the driver and left the area," Windsor police Sgt. D. Fong said. "It turned out the driver drove the 14-year-old to Healdsburg District Hospital."

Healdsburg police and Windsor deputies went to the hospital and met with the driver, a 53-year-old Windsor resident, and the teen.
"Luckily, the victim was only treated for minor injuries despite not wearing a helmet," Fong said.
The low-lying sun was determined to be a factor in both incidents, the sergeant said.
"Due to Daylight Savings Time, the morning sun is lying low on the horizon during peak commute making visibility difficult for everyone," Fong said.
