Farm Trails "Fall Feast" Features Sonoma County Fare - Live Auction & Music, Dancing Follow Locally Sourced Feast

FarmTrails, the non-profit group formed to cultivate community among local farmers and with consumers, will hold its second annual Fall Feast on Saturday, October 29, at the stunning Tresch barn in Olympia’s
Valley Estate to celebrate the bounty of Fall and honor some of Sonoma County’s agricultural heroes past and present.

The event’s highlight is a sensational organic feast, prepared by Chef Brandon Guenther of Rocker Oysterfellers, with locally sourced ingredients, all from Farm Trails members and sourced from within a
twenty one-mile radius, a live auction, and a musical hoe-down performance by Sonoma County’s own Cahoots.

The venue, Olympia’s Valley Estate in Petaluma, is breathtaking. A working dairy started by Olympia Nonella Tresch in 1905, the farm spans over 2,000 acres, grows 50 varieties of organic heirloom apples, and is the second certified organic dairy West of the Mississippi River. The dairy, whose cows produce the organic milk provided to Straus Family Creamery, are still milked twice a day by Olympia’s grandson Joe Tresch a
fifth-generation farmer, who owns and operates the farm along with his wife Kathy.

“In addition to an amazing feast sourced from our members,” says Carmen Snyder, Executive Director of Farm Trails, “we’re so excited to offer this one-of-a-kind experience at Olympia’s Valley Estate, with
amazing musicians, a live auction with Supervisor James Gore, and the opportunity to experience this historic estate for an evening.”

The fundraiser benefits Sonoma County Farm Trails and its scholarship funds given to young farmers through organizations such as Santa Rosa Junior College, Future Farmers of America, 4-H, and the School Garden
Network. This year, Farm Trails is sending a young farmer to the EcoFarm (Ecological Farming Association) conference, whose mission is to nurture healthy, ecologically sustainable farms and communities through
education and alliance.
