Children's Museum Of Sonoma County Delays Reopening

The popular place for youth field trips announced its plans to remain closed to help protect the health of families amid coronavirus.

SANTA ROSA, CA— The Children's Museum of Sonoma County announced Tuesday that it will not reopen until next year to protect the health and safety of children and families during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

More than 140,000 people visit the museum annually, including dozens of school and summer camp field trips. According to museum founder and CEO Collette Michaud, donor funding will help the museum remain afloat into 2021.

"We remain excited and hopeful for the future," she said. "We are using this time effectively to refresh exhibits, revamp programs and incorporate new concepts."
