CHP Rescues Pair Stranded At Lake Sonoma
A Santa Rosa couple was rescued early Monday morning after becoming stranded in unincorporated Sonoma County.

SONOMA COUNTY - A Santa Rosa couple was rescued early Monday morning after becoming stranded in unincorporated Sonoma County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP said at 4:40 a.m. an H-30 arrived near Lake Sonoma to assist Sonoma County sheriff's deputies with locating missing boaters.
According to the CHP, the sheriff's deputies did an extensive search of the area using a watercraft, however they were unable to locate the couple.

The H-30 was able quickly locate the boat utilizing GPS coordinates given by the missing couples mobile phone, and were able to locate a 32-year-old female and a 37-year-old male near the area.
CHP officers landed the H-30 in a field and hiked about 300 yards to rescue the couple.

The CHP said neither party required medical assistance, and they were secured into the aircraft to be transported to sheriff's deputies who would assist in recovering their boat.
