Cloverdale Fiddle Festival Returns For 42nd Year
The popular family-friendly event will feature fiddle competition, entertainment and workshops.

From Cloverdale Citrus Fair: A variety of music entertainment will be featured at the Old Time Fiddle Festival, Saturday, April 7 at the Cloverdale Citrus Fairgrounds. Doors open at 8:00 am for participant
registration and jamming sessions.
Cloverdale has served as a magnet for many Northern California fiddlers since 1976, when a
contest was organized by local fiddler Robert “Doc” Quam. Now in its 42nd year, the Cloverdale
Old Time Fiddle Festival pays homage to the long tradition of fiddle jams in Sonoma County and
surrounding areas.

Hosted by the Cloverdale Citrus Fair, the California State Old Time Fiddle Association District 10
and the Sonoma County Folk Society, the event’s mission is to preserve fiddling styles as an
American art form and provide educational opportunities for old time fiddling activities.
This highly celebrated event will feature workshops, entertainment throughout the day and the
anticipated fiddle competition. Seven divisions within the competition offer opportunities for
participants ranging from age 5 to 75 to showcase their musical talents.

Featured bands on the California Bluegrass Performing Stage include Slow Jam with John
Karsemeyer, Antioch Strolling Strings, Debby McClatchy, The Road Oilers and Haute Flash
Quartet.

A raffle benefiting north bay music education programs will include special items like a guitar
from Tall Toad Music in Petaluma, rehairing services from Loveland Violin Shop, event tickets
and local wine.
Red Rose Catering in Santa Rosa will be serving mouthwatering southern favorites like
barbecued ribs and fried chicken. Enjoy a cold beer from presenting sponsor, Lagunitas
Brewing Co. in Petaluma and local, award winning wines.
Make plans to attend the Cloverdale Old Time Fiddle Fest on Saturday, April 7. Admission is $19
for adults, $15 for seniors and kids ages 6-12. Children under 6 are free.
