Coronavirus: CVS Waives Delivery Fees For Meds; Healdsburg Store
CVS Pharmacies will waive charges for the home delivery of prescription meds amid precautions regarding the new coronavirus.
HEALDSBURG, CA — CVS Health announced Monday that beginning immediately, the drugstore chain will "waive charges for home delivery of prescription medication," including from its location in Healdsburg, to protect patients' access to their medications as the new coronavirus continues to spread.
"With the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention encouraging people at higher risk for COVID-19 complications to stay at home as much as possible, this is a convenient option to avoid coming to the pharmacy for refills of prescriptions," CVS said in a news release.

The decision by CVS is expected to soon be followed by other drugstore chains as a surge of cases from the virus continues to emerge in the United States. On Tuesday, the World Health Organization declared the global coronavirus crisis a pandemic.
"Being committed to the welfare of those we serve means being responsive to evolving needs and acting swiftly," said Troyen Brennan, executive vice president and chief medical officer of CVS Health. "This is particularly true in times of uncertainty. The latest steps we're taking will help ensure patients of all ages have every option available to them when it comes to filling prescriptions."
