Disaster Assistance For Sonoma County Homeowners & Businesses

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Sonoma County homeowners, businesses and nonprofits impacted by the LNU Lightning Complex Fires are eligible for federal disaster loans, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Along with Sonoma County, establishments in Lake, Napa and Solano counties also are eligible to borrow up to $2 million to cover the costs of repairing or replacing real estate, machinery, equipment, inventory and other assets that have been damaged or destroyed in the fires, the SBA said in a news release.

The loans, with interest rates as low as 3 percent for businesses and 2.75 percent for nonprofits, may also cover improvements to prevent similar damage in the future.

SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans are available for small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small aquaculture-related businesses and most private nonprofits with capital needs related to the wildfire, according to SBA.

Homeowners are eligible for up to $200,000 in disaster loans with 1.2 percent interest to cover costs related to repairing or replacing damaged or destroyed real estate, according to SBA. The loans stem from the major disaster declaration issued by the White House.
