Gov. Newsom Issues Sonoma County State Of Emergency Declaration
California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Friday issued a State of Emergency proclamation for Sonoma County, where the Kincade Fire is burning.
SONOMA COUNTY, CA -- Calif. Governor Gavin Newsom on Friday issued a State of Emergency proclamation for Sonoma County, where the Kincade fire is burning.
Newsom was scheduled to visit Sonoma County on Friday afternoon to meet with emergency responders, residents, health officers and local and state officials.
On Thursday, Newsom announced the state has received federal Fire Management Assistance grants for resources to fight the 21,900-acre fire burning near Geyserville. As of Friday morning, the fire is five percent contained, according to Cal Fire.

The Fire Management Grants will allow local, state and tribal agencies to recover eligible costs.
