Head-On Collision Blocks SR-1 At Wrights Beach In Sonoma County

The crash was reported at 3:11 p.m. at the entrance to Wrights Beach near Jenner, according to the California Highway Patrol.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Two cars collided head-on Wednesday afternoon on state Highway 1 at the entrance to Wrights Beach, sending both cars into a ditch and injuring at least two people, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash between a black Ford Focus and a gray Toyota Corolla was reported at 3:11 p.m. and left both parties trapped in their cars, according to CHP dispatchers.

SR-1 was blocked at the crash site and an ambulance was requested at the scene, CHP reported.

By 4:30 p.m., at least two patients were being taken by ambulances to area hospitals for treatment of minor injuries, according to CHP. At that time, authorities were also working to reopen the roadway.
