In Lake County, New Images Of Fire-Ravaged Lands

MIDDLETOWN, LAKE COUNTY - Last September, devastating fires swept through Lake County. Schools were closed for nearly two weeks as the Valley Fire killed four people and reportedly destroyed more than 1,950 structures.

Frequent Patch contributor Al Francis returned to the area last week and took these pictures for us near Middletown to capture what the area looks like four months later.

By the way, the National Weather Service says another half inch or so of rain will wet any Friday night plans you might have in Middleton. There’s a 100 percent chance.
