PG&E Reminds SoCo Customers To Sign Up For PSPS Address Alerts
Customers who signed up before June 2022 for alerts about Public Safety Power Shutoffs for addresses other than their own must re-enroll.
SONOMA COUNTY, CA ? Pacific Gas and Electric Company this week reminded customers and non-account holders in Sonoma County and throughout its service area to sign up for notifications about Public Safety Power Shutoffs for any address they care about.
High winds can cause tree branches and debris to contact energized lines, damage our equipment and cause wildfires. As a result, PG&E may need to turn off the power during severe weather to prevent wildfires. This is called a PSPS.
PG&E customers are automatically enrolled to receive PSPS notifications for any home or business they have an account for. Customers are encouraged to keep their contact information up to date with PG&E so they can be notified if their specific location will be impacted.
