Photos: Loving Mother Nature On Valentine's Day

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA - Exceptionally warm and beautiful weather on Sunday beckoned to tourists and local residents, and many got outside to enjoy the day, whether in local swimming pools or in fields bursting with flowers.

As usual, Patch contributing photographer Al Francis was out roaming, and captured these scenes for us.

In Calistoga, mid-80 degree temperatures on Sunday delighted visitors who flocked to the Indian Springs Spa pool.

Many families and couples in Napa and Sonoma counties couldn‘t resist pulling over to the side of the road to take selfies and portraits while standing in waist high mustard fields, fields that sprang up in the last few weeks thanks to the El Nino rains, and now some sunshine.

Natalie Syverson brought out her professional portable flash umbrella to pose her two children in the kid high mustard field in the Carneros area of Highway 121.

A group played volleyball in Yountville, and many people were out riding their bikes.

Remember the warm memories.

The National Weather Service says wet winter weather returns to the Bay Area toward the end of this week, with light rain moving in Wednesday and Thursday. The Truckee area may receive up to an additional 12” of snow.
