When deputies arrived, they contacted the victim who had run from her home to a neighbor's house for her own safety.

The victim told deputies her roommate, 35-year-old Alan Evans, came home and was "talking incoherently and making no sense." He then grabbed her head and began pulling her hair and slapping her, according to sheriff's officials.

Evans then allegedly told the victim he was going to the kitchen to get a knife, then he was going to "eat her," sheriff's officials said.

Deputies contacted Evans who was in the living room, and they took him into custody. Deputies noticed Evans was bloodied and found the victim's small Terrier dog fatally stabbed under Evans' car, officials said.

Evans was booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, battery, terrorist threats and cruelty to an animal. He is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail.
