Structure Fire Destroys Garage, Cars In Santa Rosa
Fire officials estimated the cost of the damage at $200,000.
SANTA ROSA, CA — A garage and cars were destroyed by a fire in Santa Rosa on Friday morning, according to the fire department. The fire was reported just after 7:30 a.m. at 2309 Sundance St.,
fire officials said.
The occupants of the northwest Santa Rosa home woke up and smelled smoke so they evacuated. Firefighters found the garage on fire when they arrived and it had already spread to cars in the home's driveway.
It took about 20 minutes to put the fire out. It damaged a neighbor's home but did not cause serious damage. The garage was destroyed but the rest of the home only sustained smoke damage, according to the fire department.

Fire officials estimated the cost of the damage at $200,000 and said its cause appears to be accidental but remains under investigation.
