Summer Meals Served At Healdsburg Boys & Girls Club
Free breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack are served at the Healdsburg Clubhouse.
HEALDSBURG, CA — Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin has its doors open this summer at seven locations in the communities of Cloverdale, Healdsburg, Windsor, Guerneville, Roseland, Rohnert Park and Petaluma. More than 1,000 youth are expected to attend up to 10 weeks of summer camp, where more than 100,000 free meals will be served.
"For many kids, these will be the only meals that they can count on throughout the summer months," said Michelle Edwards, vice president of BGC Sonoma-Marin.
In Healdsburg, summer camp runs through Aug. 2 at the Healdsburg Clubhouse, 555 Piper St. Free meals and snacks are served three times a day — breakfast is from 8:30 a.m.to 9:30 a.m., lunch is from noon to 1 p.m., and snack is from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. — and any young person under the age of 18 is welcome to join, according to Edwards.

"Our camp is a healthy, safe place offered during the long hours when many children might
otherwise be left home alone for whole days spent behind screens," Edwards said. "Boys & Girls Clubs get kids outside, playing sports and fun games in the sunshine. When kids participate in these activities, they learn to cope with stress, gain self-esteem, build stronger bodies and gain new skills all while enjoying positive social interactions."
