HEALDSBURG, CA — Motorists are likely to experience traffic delays Wednesday, Oct. 2 if taking the Healdsburg Avenue Bridge over the Russian River. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., traffic controls will be in place on the bridge east of Front Street as Caltrans performs its bi-annual inspection of the bridge, a city official advised.

"To ensure the safety of drivers and the inspectors, the eastbound lane across the bridge will be closed as necessary," said Shawn Sumpter, administrative specialist with the city of Healdsburg's Planning and Building Department.

Motorists are encouraged to avoid the bridge if at all possible.
