Authorities ID Man Shot, Killed in Park While Working on Car
The 46-year-old man was shot dead Sunday in Emerald Hills Park by two teenage suspects, according to San Diego police.

SAN DIEGO, CA: Authorities have publicly identified a 46-year-old man who was fatally shot Sunday while working on a car at Emerald Hills Park.
Kevin Spellmon of San Diego was approached by two teens who opened fire on him alongside Bethune Court near Kelton Road around 5:15 p.m. Sunday, San Diego police Lt. Manny Del Toro said. A dark Nissan-type vehicle was then seen speeding away from the area, but it was not immediately clear if the suspects were inside.
Someone drove Spellmon to a hospital, but he was later transferred to another hospital, where he died from a gunshot wound to his upper body, according to the lieutenant.

Both suspects were described as black, in their teens, and wearing black hooded sweatshirts and dark pants. The boys were last seen running south on Kelton Road.
