This was so fun! With Cat Stevens playing in the background, we made these beautiful garlands. We used our metal insets to trace shapes on colorful paper. The kids helped me fold them in 1/2, commenting "if you fold the square this way it makes a triangle!" and "when you fold the square this way it makes a rectangle!" I punched two holes in each shape and they strung them on yarn. There were moments of silent concentration as they worked coupled with exclamations of excitement. Nothing is better than hearing a 3 year old yell "I did it! I did it! I did it!" or hearing an older child say to a younger one "here, let me help you." www.MCHLG.com
