Gas Prices Near Lemon Grove Are The Most Expensive They've Been In 2 Years: AAA

The average price in San Diego County is at its highest amount since September 2015, according to new data.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA – The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose Wednesday to its highest amount since Sept. 21, 2015, increasing 1.9 cents to $3.144.

The average price has risen 13 of the past 14 days, increasing 15.9 cents, including 1.3 cents on Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It is 13.8 cents more than one week ago, 18.1 cents higher than one month ago and 42.8 cents greater than one year ago.

The rising prices are the result of disruption to "the entire supply chain" caused by Hurricane Harvey even though "California's gasoline and oil supplies do not come from the Gulf Coast," said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
