Helix Beats Mount Miguel 28-6 in Bruising Game With Several Injuries

Broken leg bones send Matador player to the hospital; a Scottie junior suffered an arm injury.

No. 4-ranked Helix raised its record to 3-1 Friday night, beating Spring Valley rival Mount Miguel 28-6. The visiting Scotties led 21-0 at halftime in a game marred by several injuries, including a broken tibula and fibula suffered by junior linebacker Ben Lomiboa of the Matadors with 6:25 left in the first quarter. A trainer said Lomiboa wanted to continue playing. An arm injury to one of the Highlanders—junior tight end Jabrion Burnside—also took him out of the game.
