Issue: Should NFL Sack Its New Security Policy on Bags at Games?
Forget coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, seat cushions and the like at Qualcomm Stadium for Chargers games.

Aiming to reduce the risk of a terror attack, while speeding entry into stadiums, the Chargers and all other NFL teams have adopted limits on what fans can carry to their pricey seats.
Forget coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, seat cushions and the like.
“With the exception of medically necessary items, only clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches will be allowed,” Huffington Post reported in June. “One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags also will be OK, as will small clear plastic bags approximately the size of someone's hand, with or without a handle or strap.”

U-T San Diego found a critic at Thursday’s exhibition game at Qualcomm Stadium.
“It’s ridiculous,” said Tracy Blevins of Lemon Grove. “I didn’t hear anything about any of this. I hope they don’t say I can’t take my sucker in. Maybe I should eat it now so I won’t have to worry about it.”

Casey Ranger of San Diego was quoted as saying: “Not being able to bring in a diaper bag sucks, but this is a good deal for five bucks,” referring to the vinyl Chargers logo tote bag filled with blankets, baby wipes, keys, glasses, water bottles, hand sanitizer and sunflower seeds for her two tots.
