Lemon Grove Radio Veteran crosses Forty-Five years

Veteran Radio Broadcaster reaches several milestones

Veteran Radio Broadcaster Tayari Howard reached several milestones in June. Tayari began working in radio in June of 1972 at San Diego City College over KSDS FM Jazz 88 and has now accumulated forty-five years in his profession. He is the second of four generations of his family spanning eighty-four years in the business of broadcasting. A Lemon Grove resident, Tayari has written, voiced and produced more than eight thousand radio, television and public service announcements.

A community philanthropist and volunteer, he has accumulated over 100,000 community service hours and acted as a Master of Ceremonies to more than seven thousand events since 1981.

As an entrepreneur, Tayari programs, operates and manages KKSDJAZZ.NET and KBLKradio.com He also mentors 9th through 12th grade students in Broadcast Media Arts and social media dissemination in a program entitled Project:R.E.A.D.Y. (Radio Education and Development of Youth).

Tayari's mother, father, oldest daughter and his youngest daughter have all worked in radio representing four generations beginning in the 1940's up to today.
