Rep. Davis Named Chair Of House Higher Education Subcommittee
The Democratic congresswoman from San Diego will focus on college affordability, apprenticeships, safety, career and tech training.

SAN DIEGO, CA – Rep. Susan Davis, D-San Diego, announced her appointment Tuesday as chair of the House Subcommittee on Higher Education and Workforce Investment.
The subcommittee, part of the House Committee on Education and Labor, will focus on improving college affordability, apprenticeship programs and school safety, according to Davis' office. The subcommittee also plans to increase support for career and technical training.
"This is an exciting opportunity to craft higher education policy to help young Americans realize their dreams and put forward robust workforce policy to help workers succeed," Davis said. "I will work to ensure that college is an attainable goal for all students, regardless of their economic situation. We also need to look at expanding apprenticeship programs that allow workers to earn while they learn the skills for a promising career."
