2,500 Without Power In Livermore Wednesday Morning

The outage was reported early Wednesday, in the midst of a storm moving through the Bay Area.

LIVERMORE, CA — Nearly 2,500 awoke Wednesday morning in Livermore to find themselves without power.

The Pacific Gas & Electric Co. first reported the outage around 6:45 a.m. PG&E is on scene and investigating the cause of the outage. Crews believe an equipment issue spurred the outage.

The outage affected a sliver of central Livermore, stretching up into the northeastern corner of the city toward Ulmar.

The outage area had significantly shrunk by 10:40 a.m., at which time 500 customers were impacted.

The cause was unknown and the estimated restoration time was 1 p.m., as of 10:40 a.m.

Traffic signals were not working at the intersections of Fourth Street and S. L Street, and Fourth Street and S. P Street, Livermore police said. Officers reminded the public to treat non-functioning traffic lights as four-way stops.
