2 Livermore Men Arrested In Fatal Weekend Shooting

A third Livermore man was found with a gunshot wound at a local motel Friday night.

LIVERMORE, CA — Two Livermore men have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting late Friday night at Motel 6.

The victim was a 24-year-old Livermore man who died at a local hospital after the shooting, the Livermore Police Department said in a statement. Authorities would not release his name Monday.

Ronnie Ray Martinez Jr., 29, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder while shooting from a car, driving without a license and leaving the scene of a fatal accident, jail records showed.

Phe N. Phan, 27, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder while shooting from a car and making criminal threats.

Both Phan and Martinez were being held in Santa Rita Jail Monday without bail. They are both scheduled to appear before an Alameda County Superior Court judge Wednesday for arraignment.

Police were called to the motel at 4673 Lassen Road around 11:57 p.m. Friday and found the victim with a gunshot wound, police said.

Police identified Phan and Martinez as suspects and determined that they were in Tracy, police said. Officers with the Livermore Police Department tactical team and Tracy Police Department arrested the men Saturday evening.
