In our hearts and in the shelves of the Livermore Target store, the Niners emerged as victors from Super Bowl LIV.

LIVERMORE, CA — We'd like to believe the San Francisco 49ers won Super Bowl LIV. And if you didn't know better — like fan Alex Tran — you might think they did pull off a victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, judging by the inventory at the Target store in Livermore.

The store at 4300 Las Positas Road sold commemorative Super Bowl LIV posters that proclaimed the Niners as Super Bowl LIV victors.

"CHAMPIONS," the posters read.

Ouch.

Target did not immediately respond to a request seeking comment.

Tran told NBC that he took a pass on the posters, selling for $11, and noted that the players were wearing a red jersey in the posters. The Niners wore white in the Super Bowl.

Commemorative gear celebrating winners of significant games is made for both teams in advance of the big game so it's ready to dole out as soon as the game wraps up, even though there can only be one winner.

Much of the apparel made for the players on the losing team gets donated, Business Insider reported.

Perhaps posters don't make great charity contributions.

There's always next year, we hope. If not, you might want to make your way to your local Target. Nobody has to know.
