CA Wildfire Smoke, Ash Prompts Warning For Alameda County
Heavy smoke and ash falling from the skies pose a hazard to residents, Alameda County Fire said.

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — If the eerie, ominous skies weren't enough incentive to keep you locked inside already, Alameda County firefighters warn that residents should avoid venturing outdoors due to poor air quality in the region.
Heavy smoke and ash from wildfires across the Golden State are affecting Alameda County, the fire department said. Alameda County Fire stations are fully staffed, though a red flag warning in place for the East Bay Hills lapsed at 8 a.m. Wednesday.
Street lights have flickered on. Drivers are using their headlights as an unprecedented amount of smoke heads south over the Bay Area, causing hazy and darkened skies, the National Weather Service said Wednesday morning.

Drivers should drive slowly, Alameda County Fire said.
