Boys Scouts of America Honor Eagle Scout Eric Lessard

Livermore Troop 924 Honors Eagle Scout at Court of Honor

Eric Lessard has passed the Board of Review and has earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He resides in Livermore, California and his parents are Scott and Mary Lessard. His Eagle Court of Honor will be held April 18, 2020.

Eric is a member of Troop 924, sponsored by American Legion Post 237, where he was Patrol Leader and achieved the distinction of Honor Patrol. He has participated in the annual “Scouting for Food” drive for the past eight years, as well as school food drives and collecting canned items in his neighborhood for other food banks and shelters. He has been a volunteer for many Eagle projects for his peers in Scouting.

Eric is a senior at Livermore High School, where he was on the varsity volleyball. He has also been in basketball, baseball and cross country teams. He has been an Alter Server at St. Michael Church since the 5th grade. He worked at Casa Del Pomba for Deacon Dave Rezendez since 2016, including working on his annual Christmas light displays which are the highlight of the Christmas season for many local residents. He has also volunteered for AVPFirst as a member of the operations crew, setting up, maintaining and dismantling beach volleyball courts.

Eric’s interests include snow skiing, hiking, beach volleyball and is involved in the Tri-Valley ROP medical occupation program. Eric has applied to universities for undergraduate studies in health science with the intent to pursue a masters as a Physician's Assistant. He loves helping others and working with people of all ages. He is passionate to pursue a career in the medical field.

Eric’s Eagle Scout project entailed designing and constructing a multipurpose toy box and magnetic wall. This was done for St. Michael school, which he attended and graduated in eighth grade. This project was done to strengthen the STREAM program at St. Michael School, in which students are encouraged to find creative solutions to complex problems. He led a team of 15 boys to build and install this interactive magnetic wall. Accomplishing his Eagle Scout rank was one of the many highlights of his Senior year at Livermore High school, where he will be graduating June 2020.

To earn the rank of Eagle Scout, a Scout must be active in their troop, demonstrate leadership, earn 21 merit badges including the areas of citizenship, camping, communications, cooking and lifesaving or emergency preparedness as well as demonstrate that they live by the principles of the Scout Oath and the Scout Law.

They must also plan, develop and provide leadership in a service project benefiting a religious institution, school or community group.
