Car Fire On I-580 Sparks Grass Fire In Livermore
The fire blocked two lanes of traffic and snarled traffic Thursday afternoon.
LIVERMORE, CA — Firefighters worked Thursday afternoon to knock down a vegetation fire on Interstate 580 near N. Greenfield Road in Livermore.
The blaze began as a car fire and was reported just before 3 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. Alameda County Fire Department reported at 4:20 p.m. that it had stopped the fire's spread.
At least two lanes are blocked due to the firefighting efforts. The CHP has issued a Sig-alert for the area and drivers are likely to experience delays.

Firefighters from Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department, Cal Fire, Camp Parks Fire Department also worked together to put out the blaze.
