Celebration Of Life For Woman Killed In Livermore Crash
Livermore native Alexys 'Lexy' Garcia, 25, died a week after the tragic Thanksgiving eve collision.

LIVERMORE, CA — A celebration of life has been scheduled for a woman who died a week after she was ejected during a car crash in Livermore on Nov. 22. Livermore native Alexys 'Lexy' Garcia, 25, who was in a medically-induced coma at Eden Medical Center following the collision, died after succumbing to her injuries, according to her family. She was critically injured and suffered brain trauma, a broken pelvis and multiple broken bones. In the heartbreaking days following the crash, Garcia's family members stayed by her bedside, hoping for a miracle, until her last breath.
Violet Campbell, 16, who attended Village High School in Pleasanton, was killed immediately when the SUV they were riding in left the road and rolled several times the night before Thanksgiving. She was partially ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. Her funeral was held on Dec. 3.
Garcia’s services have been scheduled for January 6, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Cornerstone Church in Livermore. The services are open to the public and a private reception will be held after for family and close friends. Garcia’s family asks those who attend to wear pink, aqua or mint green attire instead of black. They are also encouraging people to wear Disney, Star Wars, Giants or Raiders gear and UGG boots in honor of Garcia.

The driver, Livermore resident Lauren Davis, 26, who was a friend of Garcia's, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder and felony DUI causing injury/death, according to the California Highway Patrol. Davis suffered minor injuries in the deadly collision. Davis has two previous arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol, according to an NBC report. CHP officials said she has been released from jail pending further investigation.
CHP officials said the night before Thanksgiving, the blue Kia Sorento Davis was driving left the road for unknown reasons, overturned several times and came to rest on the first set of railroad tracks. Five people were in the SUV at the time of the wreck.
A touching roadside memorial of flowers and rocks remains near the scene of a deadly car crash.
