East Bay Voters To Decide Next Congressman Of CA's 15th District

Incumbent and Democrat Eric Swalwell is facing off against Republican teacher Alison Hayden.

EAST BAY, CA — East Bay voters are deciding whether they want U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) to serve another two years in Congress.

Swalwell, who was once a 2020 presidential candidate, is facing off against Republican challenger and special education teacher Alison Hayden in the race to represent California's 15th Congressional District.

Swalwell and Hayden were the top two vote-getters in the March primary. Swalwell held a significant lead with 59 percent of the vote, while Hayden came in second place with 17 percent.

Two Democrats, a Republican and a nonpartisan candidate split the remaining 14 percent of the vote.

California's 15th Congressional District includes all or part of the following communities: San Ramon; Dublin; Pleasanton; Livermore; Hayward; Union City; Fremont; Castro Valley; San Lorenzo; San Leandro; Danville; Cherryland; Ashland; Sunol; and Fairview.
