Fire Weather Watch Issued For Much Of Bay Area
Warm, dry and windy conditions forecast soon have given officials cause for concern.
BAY AREA, CA — The National Weather Service has issued a fire weather watch for the North Bay mountains and East Bay hills and valleys.
The watch is in effect from 11 a.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Monday, NWS said.
The North Bay mountains region will likely face the greatest threat.

"Any fires that develop will spread rapidly in the hot, dry and windy weather," NWS said.
Wind gusts of 50 mph are possible in hills above 1,000 feet, according to NWS. The strongest winds are forecast Saturday night into Sunday morning, with the possibility for another burst of winds Sunday night into Monday morning.
