Hanukkah Jams: Multi-Genre Klezmer Band To Perform In Livermore

The Jewish ensemble will be in Livermore to perform during the second day of Hanukkah.

LIVERMORE, CA — Mostly Kosher — a genre-bending, self-described klezmer gypsy-rock band from Southern California — will perform at Livermore's Bankhead Theater on the second day of Hanukkah this year.

The band includes violinist Janice Mautner Markham, drummer Eric Hagstrom, bassist Adam Levy, trombonist Mike King, guitarist Will Brahm and guest artists, Anibal Seminario and Anderson Quintero. They play jazz, Latin, rock and folk, "with ravishing klezmer beats and arresting Yiddish refrains," according to an event description on the Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center site.

The band was the first Jewish ensemble to play at Disney holiday celebrations at parks in California and Florida, and has appeared on television during a performance at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles.
