How To Make Magic Reindeer Dust For Christmas: WATCH

We have just the thing for Rudolph and his hardworking caribou crew. This easy Christmas Eve project is perfect for children of any age.

Santa Claus sure does get all of the glory on Christmas Eve, but what about his eight tiny reindeer? After so much travel, don't they deserve a little something special? Not to worry! We have just the thing for Rudolph and his hardworking caribou crew.

Making magic reindeer dust is a fun project for kids suffering from cabin fever as they count down the hours until Christmas morning. This festive mix is an affordable, kid-friendly project that takes less than five minutes to make.

The colorful candy sprinkles help show the reindeer the way to your house and the oats are a snack to be enjoyed while Santa is inside dropping off those gifts.

You will need:

  • Candy sprinkles (found in the cookie decorating section of most grocery stores)
  • Oatmeal
  • Zip-top bags or small plastic containers with lids (one bag or container per child)

Cover the workspace or have the child work on a clean baking sheet to help contain the magic sprinkles. In a large bowl, combine the sprinkles (how much is up to you and your little ones) with several cups of oatmeal and stir. Divide the mix into containers of your choice. On Christmas Eve, before they head to bed, your child can sprinkle the magic reindeer dust on the front lawn for Santa's team.
