Lake Del Valle Cyclist Hospitalized After Plunging Into Ravine

LIVERMORE, CA — A mountain biker was flown to the hospital Friday evening after falling into a ravine at Lake Del Valle, the California Highway Patrol said.

The man suffered serious injuries.

The Livermore-Pleasanton and Alameda County fire departments helped extricate the man after he fell about 30 feet down into the ravine, CHP said in a statement.

Firefighters delivered the man to a CHP helicopter, which took him to Walnut Creek's John Muir Medical Center.
