LAVTA Board Elects Bob Woerner To Serve As Chair

The Board of Directors of the Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority (LAVTA), operator of the Wheels and Rapid bus services, unanimously voted to elect Bob Woerner to serve as Board Chair for the next 12 months. Woerner, Vice Mayor of the city of Livermore, has most recently served on the LAVTA Board since 2018, after also serving as a LAVTA Board member from 2012-2014. He served as Vice Chair of the LAVTA Board during the past year and serves on the agency’s Projects and Services Committee.

Woerner, who is also the agency’s representative on the Tri-Valley – San Joaquin Valley Regional Rail Authority Board, said “I want to thank my fellow Board members for this honor. The coming year is going to be a very challenging one as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the associated financial challenges our agency faces. However, I am confident that the LAVTA Board and staff will continue to deliver quality transit service to the residents of the Tri-Valley.”

The LAVTA Board also unanimously elected Pleasanton Councilmember Jerry Pentin to the position of Vice Chair for the upcoming year.
