LIVERMORE, CA — Livermore Downtown announced Thursday plans for a Makers Market event in lieu of the annual Street Fest.

The Street Fest has been canceled for the second year in a row due to the coronavirus pandemic, but the downtown association is looking to create a different kind of event that can be held in accordance with COVID-19 restrictions.

The Makers Market will be a weekend outdoor shopping event held 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 15 to 16. Mask wearing and social distancing is required. Artists and crafters are among the participants, while local shops and boutiques can also participate by offering shopping in their stores.

The event is still in the planning stages, but it will feature some vendors who were initially slated to participate in the 2020 Street Fest and opted to roll over their registration to 2021.

"It may look different and feel different but one thing stays the same," Livermore Downtown wrote. "It will be a beautiful time together in Downtown Livermore!"
