LIVERMORE, CA — Three women winemakers will share their journeys and lead a virtual wine tasting event this week, in honor of Women's History Month this March.

Panelists at the free event will talk winemaking technique and share personal anecdotes about how they got started in the industry. The event is organized by Livermore Valley Wine Country, the professional association that represents dozens of local wineries and winegrowers.

Women winemakers remain sorely underrepresented in California, according to Lucia Albino Gilbert and John Carl Gilbert, the Santa Clara University researchers behind the project Women Winemakers of California and Beyond.
