Livermore's Sycamore Grove Park Offers Visitors Some Relief

Visitors of Livermore's Sycamore Grove Park can breathe a sigh of relief because the latest addition to the park is a pair of new restrooms.

Two unisex restroom facilities with two stalls each are now open for business at each of the 775-acre park's entrances.

Both restrooms were constructed by Romtec Inc. and feature red cedar wood siding and cultured stone veneer. Imprints of sycamore leaves and animal prints in the surrounding cement floor can also be seen at the new facilities.

"These provide a more modern, sanitary facility for park visitors," said Chief Ranger Pat Sotelo in a release.

The Wetmore Road entrance restrooms, which are hooked up to the city's sewer system, also feature sinks with soap dispensers and photo-occupancy sensors for lights, the release said. Each unit also has a skylight, providing plenty of natural lighting.

The restrooms will only be opened during park hours--7 a.m. to sunset--and locked overnight.

The restrooms at the Wetmore Road entrance also have drinking fountains attached, the release said. The restrooms at the Arroyo Road entrance are waterless units hooked up to a septic tank.
