With vibrant communities, wineries, shopping and more, it is no wonder so many choose the Tri-Valley as home. At the heart of all the offerings in the Tri-Valley, it’s the compassionate and loving people who live here that make this a true community. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, serving the community remains paramount to ensure public services, and that the employees who deliver these services are supported. As a result of this collective crisis, members of our community have suddenly found themselves experiencing shortfalls in many basic needs simultaneously.

Kathy Young, President/CEO of the Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance shares, “Many organizations are experiencing an increased demand for their services, not only from the vulnerable populations they regularly assist, but also from area residents who have been suddenly and adversely impacted by the fallout.”

Recognizing the need for additional regional support, the Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance (TVNPA), in collaboration with Community Health & Education Foundation (CHEF), has launched the Tri-Valley Nonprofit Fund (TVNF). CHEF has seeded the TVNF with $20,000 in matching funds.

Donations made to the Tri-Valley Nonprofit Fund will equally support six organizations that have been identified by the human services departments of Dublin, Livermore and Pleasanton as critical safety net service providers for our residents.

To help boost fundraising efforts, over 15 local music students are inspired to hold an online recital on Saturday, May 9th at 4pm streamed through Facebook. It’s free to attend, and donations are welcome. Funds raised directly benefit CityServe of the Tri-Valley, Senior Support of the Tri-Valley, Axis Community Health, Tri-Valley Haven, Spectrum Community Services and Open Heart Kitchen.

“I wanted to organize something to give music students a chance to perform in front of an audience and to do good in the community. Many of us dedicate time to charitable organizations, but with the shelter in place we can’t volunteer in the same way. These nonprofits critical to our community are now facing increasing demand while their funding is being cut. Anything we can do to help is worth the effort. When I discussed the idea with a few local music instructors, they couldn’t wait to help out with the show,” says Robert Nuddleman, local attorney and TVNPA board member.

To replenish funds these nonprofits need to continue serving our greater community, creative ways like this online music benefit are multi-purpose: raising funds while also bringing our Tri-Valley community together for the common good to help one another. The goal of this fundraising effort is bringing each key nonprofit whole to deliver the services so many need and depend on.

To attend this event on Saturday, May 9th at 4pm, log on to Facebook and go directly to the Recital-in-Place Facebook page.
