Fatal I-580 Car Crash: Man Ejected From Car; Expect Delays
The driver did not appear to be wearing a seatbelt, CHP said.

LIVERMORE, CA — A 54-year-old man was confirmed dead Thursday afternoon after he was ejected from his car in a crash on an Interstate 580 offramp.
The incident occurred around 2:20 p.m. at the Isabel Avenue offramp in Livermore. No other cars were involved, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The man had no passengers and is not believed to have worn a seatbelt. There were no witnesses, but CHP believes he was driving too fast — potentially at a speed too high for the wet road —and took an unsafe turn, causing his 2001 Pontiac veered off the road, through a chain-link fence and into a tree.
