More Rain Expected Thursday As Wetter Storm Heads To Tri-Valley

TRI-VALLEY, CA — As the second storm of the week heads toward the Tri-Valley region, the National Weather Service is forecasting that rain will hit San Francisco mid-morning Thursday. This storm is expected to be stronger and wetter than the first, impacting all of the San Francisco Bay Area and Central Coast regions.

Clouds will increase as the storm creeps in, forecasters wrote Wednesday. The storm will likely bring wind, moderate or brief heavy rain, snow in higher elevations and possibly thunderstorms, forecasters wrote.

Wind gusts of 35 to 50 mph are possible. Coastal areas are expected to see one to three inches of rain, with urban areas expected to see a half-inch to an inch of rain.

East Bay residents may notice white-tipped mountains, as a few inches of snow could fall on local mountaintops, and those in the North Bay and Santa Cruz regions, forecasters wrote.

Showers may continue into Friday morning, but come the weekend, weather officials forecast drier and somewhat warmer weather.
