Vasco Road Reopens After Motorcyclist Seriously Injured: CHP

The motorcyclist suffered major injuries and was taken to John Muir Health Walnut Creek Medical Center by air ambulance, the CHP said.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA —Both directions of Vasco Road in unincorporated Contra Costa County are now open after an injury collision between a motorcycle and vehicle forced a brief closure of the roadway early Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP said the collision was first reported at 4:58 a.m. at the roadway's intersection with Camino Diablo. The motorcyclist was transported via air ambulance to John Muir Health Walnut Creek Medical Center with major injuries.

Motorists are advised to expect delays on the roadway, which was cleared around 6:18 a.m. No further information is immediately available.
