‘Operation Cranberry Sauce’ Will Feed Hundreds Of Families

More than 200 volunteers help pack boxes of food each year so hundreds may enjoy a Thanksgiving meal in their own home.

LIVERMORE, CA — More than 200 volunteers recently spent two evenings together at the CrossWinds in Livermore to pack boxes of food so families in need can enjoy a Thanksgiving meal at home this week. “Operation Cranberry Sauce” started 15 years ago and has since grown to serve families in Livermore, Pleasanton, Hayward, San Leandro, Castro Valley and Oakland.

The packed Thanksgiving meals include a turkey and feed a family of five. Safeway and Cresco provide the food and help facilitate the meal distribution, according to the church.

The church has fed more than 1,000 families with the boxed meals the last few years.
